We all know very well tophits I Got Plenty O’ Nuttin’ or It Ain’t Necessarily So, don’t we? But few people know that these are not only old jazz songs but the most popular parts of the world famous American opera Porgy and Bess from 1935. George Gershwin’s opera depicts - through the love of a beggar and a drug addict woman - the life of a black community filled with joy, prayer, labour and violence in Charleston, South-Carolina.
